Scott Humpal is a physical therapist and the owner of Humpal Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Centers. He grew up in Butte, Nebraska. He participated in football, basketball, wrestling, track and baseball. He attended the University of Nebraska and then transferred to the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy in 1988.
After graduation, Scott worked over the summer at a rural hospital in South Dakota, then moved to Corpus Christi. His first job in So. Texas was at Riverside Hospital in Calallen. The time spent at the hospital was personally gratifying, but it did not offer enough outpatient orthopedic care to satisfy his professional goals, so he decided to open his own practice. Unable to secure a business loan, $20,000 was scraped together from family members, and the first Humpal clinic was opened in Sinton, Texas in August of 1989. Dedicated employees, ambition, and determination encouraged Scott to take it several steps further and he decided to open a clinic in Corpus Christi in July 1990. Then a clinic in Alice in August 1994, and a clinic in Aransas Pass in November 1997. A new 21,000 sq.ft. facility located at 5026 Deepwood Cir. was completed in October 2000. A clinic was opened in Calallen (5 Points) in Oct. 2003. The Sinton clinic was closed and relocated to Portland in 2004. The newest facility was opened in Rockport, in Feb. 2007, and the Portland clinic moved into a completely renovated building in 2008.
One hundred and twenty employees now operate the Corpus Christi, Calallen, Alice, Portland, Aransas Pass and Rockport clinics which make up the Humpal Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Centers Team.
Scott has built his practice and reputation on providing progressive and quality care for all patients. He has shown a strong commitment to excellence and supports numerous programs and charities in the So. Texas communities served by the Corpus Christi, Calallen, Alice, Portland, Aransas Pass and Rockport clinics.
